But if you make your own gift basket it save you a lot of money, and you can also put your own special touch it. I enjoy making bed and bath gift baskets, that is something that all woman enjoy.

Here are some tips to make it yourself. Go to your local dollar store, and buy some lotions, creams, soaps, sponges, and a candle or two. Most dollar stores even sell baskets, so you just might be able to buy your basket there, and some clear wrap for baskets. Don’t forget the ribbon and bow, and a little bit of tissue paper. Line the bottom of the basket with some colorful tissue paper, and then neatly put your goodies in the basket.

You can always use your computer to make a personalized gift card for the special one that is going to be getting this awesome gift basket. Get out your clear plastic basket wrap, lay it flat on the floor, and sit your basket on top of it, then just simply pull the plastic over the basket, give it a twist at the top, tie it with the ribbon, you can take a pair of scissors and use them to curl the ribbon up some, you just simply take one sides and press it against the ribbon that is hanging, start from the top and slide them down, this will make the part of the ribbon that is hanging curly and pretty.

Then just stick your bow where the knot was tied with the ribbon, and you have an affordable and adorable bed and bath gift basket. The lady that you have chosen to give this amazing self made bed and bath gift basket too will be one lucky lady.

Create A Personalized Gift Basket

Personalized gift baskets are one of the most versatile presents ever and is usually filled with nice things. Who can resist a basket of goodies? To top off everything, gift baskets are usually well received and appreciated – so there you have it, the perfect gift idea.

When making a gift basket, it is useful to know who will be getting it. Will it be a child, an adult, a teenager or an elderly person? Knowing who will be getting the gift basket will make it easier to fill up and arrange. An elderly person might not have any use for items in a basket that were intended for a teenager and vice versa. The occasion and type of gift basket should be decided on as well.

Also, persons can go the extra mile by finding out at least two favorite items of the person who will be receiving the gift basket so they can be included. This can be their favorite bath oil fragrance, chocolate, perfume, body splash, scented lotion or whatever; it all depends on the type of basket being made. If food items will be included in the gift basket, please be aware that they should be non-perishable, just in case the gift basket has a long way to go, for example to an out of town friend.

One can never go wrong when being creative. With this in mind, be different, add a dash of creativity when making gift baskets. For fillers, let your imagination run wild and use totally different fillers like popcorn, colored sponges that are cut in very small squares or cubes, or you can just rein in your wild imagination and stick to shredded paper of various colors. Shredded plastic of various colors can also be used as fillers. The colors of the fillers can be contrasting or complementing, it does not matter as long as they add something nice to the gift basket.

Of course, the container cannot be left out. The usual and popular basket is a given, however, a pail can be used instead of the traditional basket. To give it some oomph, just decoupage it. Something useful, practical, beautiful and durable is born. Have fun experimenting with different containers for making gift baskets.

How To Make A Personalized Gift Basket

So you want to make a personalized gift basket for someone. Perhaps it is their birthday, or they have just recovered or been discharged from hospital. The number one most imperative advice that anyone can give you is that you have to take into account who it is for!. Do you have any inside jokes with the receiver of the gift basket? There is nothing more impersonal than receiving a store bought basket that has a shoddy card on the inside. You may as well just carve “Here” on a piece of wood and put it into a box. But fear not, for I will help you create a gift basket that any relative would want to receive!

Starting with the basics at decoration, it is important to make your basket look appealing as nobody wants to receive something that looks thrown together at the last minute. Simply go to your local card/gift wrapping store and buy some ribbon, some colored plastic see through wrap and lots of matching crepe paper. Use the crepe paper as the foundation for the basket, by placing multiple folds at the bottom of the basket, and simply crinkle the edges around the edge of the basket to make it look like it was there all along! You can tear up the remaining crepe paper to get a kind of streamer effect. Now take the ribbon and tie a neat bow on the handle of the basket (this step really shows affection with receivers for some reason). Now stream the colored plastic around the edge of the basket, to cover the crinkled edge of the crepe paper.

Next is the arrangement. Avoid live flowers if you intend to give the basket in a few days as it will wilt and look very terrible on the day. Depending on who it is for, you can either have an inside joke or go for a more generic box of chocolates or champagne combo (these are usually accepted with gratitude believe me!). You want to arrange them so that the biggest is at the back, and the smallest is leaning on the biggest (this makes it seem like you have given more than you actually have).

And voila! You have a fully amiable gift basket that anyone could appreciate!
